How do cleansing waters work?

When it comes to convenience, you can’t get much better than cleansing water. With no need to rinse, they’re the easiest way to remove makeup and cleanse your face and they’re gentle on your skin, too.

What's the science behind them?

All cleansing waters contain surfactants, which are compounds known for their ability to lower the surface tension of liquids. This makes molecules slipperier, so they are less likely to stick to themselves and more likely to mingle with oily particles.

The trick with cleansing waters, often called micellar waters, is that the concentration of surfactants is low enough that the product is still mild, so they are gentle enough not to need rinsing off the skin. But the concentration is just high enough that the surfactants spontaneously form ‘micelles.’ These are tiny spherical blobs with one end that loves water and another end that is attracted to oil.

Micelles are so effective at cleansing because their oil-loving tail ends instantly absorb dirt, oil and makeup on your face,

You can use cleansing water as a super-speedy cleanse on its own, or make it the second step of any double cleansing routine, to fully remove all trace of dirt and debris from your face.

Not only do Rojank’s Super Food Cleansing Waters contain the perfect combination of ‘micellar’ cleansing ingredients, they are also loaded with natural fruit and plant extracts, all rich in skin-boosting antioxidants.
